Phase 1: Park Amenities (Developer-Funded)
The first phase focuses on the development of 2.57 acres located east of County Road 15A. This phase, to be fully funded and completed by the Rookery developers, includes:
- Two new tennis courts
- A dedicated parking lot
- Bathroom facilities
Phase 2: Nature Trail (City-Funded)
The second phase involves the creation of a scenic nature trail stretching approximately 1,500 linear feet east along Green Cove Avenue, with a connection point at Oakridge Avenue. This portion of the project will be developed by the City.
Budget
Total Budget for Nature Trail: $400,000
Funding Breakdown: $200,000 in FRDAP (Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program) funds and $200,000 from City budget.
Timeline
City received final agreement from the state and is currently finalizing the design and permitting with Baxter and Woodman, Inc (formerly Tocoi Engineering). Construction anticipated to begin Spring 2026.
